The upheaval of the French Revolution is a turning point in history and music played an important role in the lives of those who lived through this dangerous and kinetic period of change. From the Fall of the Bastille in 1789, to the founding of the Paris Conservatoire in 1795, to Napoleon’s military campaigns across Europe in the first decade of the 1800s, our program will treat audiences to the thrilling, elegant, and evocative music that first echoed through the streets of Paris and eventually throughout the French Empire.
